Ricchina's Wedding

I met Ricchina and her mother Janice on a train from Charlottesville bound for New York. When the train broke down we were stranded for hours and spent some time chatting. I was immediately drawn to Ricchina, who has Down Syndrome,  and her warm, engaging personality. Janice explained that Ricchina was about to have her 25th birthday and that she had always wanted to marry. The family was planning a surprise wedding themed birthday party. I was invited and photographed the party for Ricchina and Janice. Here are a few of the opening images of the essay.

New York Times

Select images from the photo essay I have been working on for the past three years have been published in the New York Times Magazine as the cover story. Please take a look, and many thanks to all of those who have been so supportive along the way. This is a very important topic and Ruth Padawer's writing is certain to raise awareness and continue the conversation regarding LGBT rights at this pivotal time in history.

Northampton Wall

Just returned from dropping my son off at camp in Maine. Decided to take Rt 1A along the coast from Brunswick to MA. Was curious about the beach scene in NH and came upon a short rocky stretch with an active wall culture in Northampton.
